It is also the shooting site of a number of films and TV series, including Hero, Emperor Han Wu, A Step into the Past, Painted Skin, The Promise, and Joy of Life.

Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasties truthfully reproduces the government buildings, folk dwellings, shops and imperial palaces of Yenching at different times in history by referring to the architectural style of imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and integrating with different architectural types covering imperial palaces, imperial gardens, mansions of princes, government offices in feudal China, Hutong and folk dwellings. It is the filming location of Li’s Fly Cutter, Chinese Paladin, The Journey of Flower, The Story of Ming Lan, and The Untamed.

Dazhi Temple is listed as the shooting base of acrobatic fighting film in Hengdian World Studios, where the Li’s Fly Cutter, Handsome Siblings, New Mad-Monk and Smart Kid were filmed.

Featured by deep cliffs, serene caves, red leaves, and hanging buildings, the scenic area enjoys a typical natural Danxia landform and lovely landscapes of plank paths, pavilions, heaven gates, caves and cableway.
